ABOUT HEALTH PLANS WA

A guide to sources you can check.

Health Plans WA helps Washington residents find reliable places to begin when looking for medical insurance. We collect links to official coverage tools, licensed-help searches, state policy information, rate filings, and health-insurance news. We are an independent directory, not a government agency, insurer, broker, licensed agent, or plan marketplace. We do not recommend or sell insurance.

Coverage and enrollment

Washington Healthplanfinder is the state marketplace for health and dental coverage. Brokers can help compare plans; navigators offer general enrollment help. Before working with an agent, check their license with the Office of the Insurance Commissioner.

Who does what in Washington?

The Secretary of Health leads public-health work. The elected Insurance Commissioner regulates the insurance market and protects consumers. The Universal Health Care Commission develops a pathway toward a future universal system. None is a single state official who selects a health plan for you.

About rate news

Insurer rate requests are proposals. Final approved rates can differ. Check the regulator’s filing and decision before treating a headline as your actual premium.
